Free Family Fun Weekend Activities




Looking for some weekend fun for the family, without breaking the bank?  

Here are a few options for this weekend, get out and enjoy your family time!

National - Saturday, March 8




Starting at 10:00, kids can build a free Birdhouse at the Lowe's Kids Clinic. Preregistration is encouraged.  




Starting at 12:00-3:00, Michael's has a Free Family Craft Time event. 
Bloom into spring with this fun, free flower craft at Michaels. Join us in store while supplies last for Free Family Craft Time!

Check your local Michael's, most stores also have a Kids Club craft, that costs $2 for a 30 minute craft.  Not free, but affordable! 


Sunday, March 9th 




Lose an hour, gain a doughnut at Krispy Kreme
Krispy Kreme is celebrating Daylight Savings Time on Sunday, March 9th by offering a FREE Original Glazed doughnut (one per guest) at participating US and Canadian locations. No purchase necessary. You can join their Facebook Event!
Fun Activities in Middle Tennessee - Saturday, March 8

Longview Recreation Center, Spring Hill
Nearly 60 booths feature crafts like stained glass, jewelry, woodworking, crochet, quilted items, candles, dolls and more. An arts and crafts open house is also on tap, and the Easter Bunny arrives for photos at 1 p.m. All ages.

10:00 - Bird Club
Enjoy a walk while searching for spring migrants and resident birds of Tennessee. All ages.

10:30 - Billy Goats Gruff 
Main Library, Downtown Nashville
Nachville Opera presents this production sung in English with music by Mozart, Donizetti and Rossini.  All ages.

11:00 - Family Concert
Whitworth-Buchanan Middle School, Murfreesboro
The Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra performs a special concert with kids in mind. Arrive an hour early for hands-on activities prior to the show. All ages.

1:30 - Animal Encounters 
Meet a resident animal and learn about its characteristics.  All ages.

Edmondson Pike Library, Nashville
Nachville Opera presents this production sung in English with music by Mozart, Donizetti and Rossini.  All ages.

Fiddler's Grove, Lebanon
Families can travel back in time and learn how people communicated in the olden days by touring a print shop, telephone museum and radio building, then enjoy live music in the evening.  All ages.

Sunday, March 9th



Deer Run Camps & Retreats, Thompson's Station
Day and overnight campers in Grades K - 12 can tour the grounds and facilities, and meet directors and staff.
