After reading Divergent, by Veronica Roth, Josie and I have been excited
to see the movie. If you have not read
it yet, I highly recommend it. Divergent
is the first of 3 books. I have yet to
read the two after it, Insurgent and Allegiant, but will read them soon. I found Divergent to be a bit Hunger Games-ish,
with the same type of dystopian future, but where The Hunger Games has people
divided by districts, Divergent has people in factions. Most of the similarities end there, though. I love main character, Tris. She is a strong young woman (I love empowered gals!). Tris is Divergent, and
does not fit into one of the 5 faction categories, which makes her dangerous.
The movie Divergent premiered for special showings last night, and opens nationwide today, Friday, March 21, 2014. GP, Josie and I went to the 8:00 showing last night.
We really enjoyed the movie.
Movies adapted from books always have changes, and I was impressed at
how well the movie followed the book. I
am not says it was verbatim, there were changes, but they stayed very true to
the original story.
